FOTOINITIATORS

Florian Geiss is an internationally active photographer and director and has been working in the field of advertising and artistic projects for over 25 years. As a member of BFF, AOP, ADC and DGPH, he has a broad network in the photo scene.

“In addition to my own work as a photographer and director, I have had the idea of strengthening and making photography more visible in the public-cultural sector for a long time.

Through photography I have been able to gain incredibly exciting and stimulating opportunities and experiences - and I have the desire to want to pass some of them on. This gave rise to the idea for FOTOKAMP, a space for the exchange with and about photography on socially relevant topics.

Hardly any political and / or social process in our time has not been communicated, accompanied, observed and sometimes even initiated through photos.

We are experiencing a phase of change and change worldwide - socially, politically and climatically.

FOTOKAMP is intended to promote a joint dialogue on possible solutions and create suggestions for a stronger exchange within the various groups in our society. My own interdisciplinary work has shown me how much can be moved and achieved through networking. Taking up the social discourse together and wanting to accompany the powerful authors and idea generators in and alongside photography is an important task and responsibility.

In order to bring ideas, work and opinions closer together within various groups and to make them more visible, there is currently no offer in Hamburg - I would like to make this possible with FOTOKAMP. "

„Dasvielfältige Medium Fotografie fasziniert mich immer wieder aufs Neue.
